The Innovation and Design Building is a 1.4 million square foot mixed use complex located in the Innovation District in Boston’s Seaport neighborhood. The eight-story structure was constructed in 1919 as a waterside storehouse for the South Boston Army Base. Today the IDB is home to many creative, tech, and manufacturing companies including Reebok, America's Test Kitchen, Ginkgo Bioworks, Flex, Neoscape, Continuum, Elkus Manfredi, Chickadee Restaurant & Flour Bakery + Cafe. It is conveniently located along the MBTA Silver Line route, just minutes from South Station The complex also houses the Boston Design Center, New England’s premier resource for design professionals with over 60 showrooms.
